Not everybody has an existing employee who they want to put forward for an apprenticeship.
Instead you may be looking to hire new talent.
We can offer assistance and support throughout the whole recruitment process, from finding a suitable apprentice, to getting them started, whilst being your training provider throughout.
Each Winter and throughout the Spring period, Business First will assess and interview young people who are leaving school and college in the Summer. We then provide a 'matching service' that is based on the completion of a CV and maintain regular contact with applicants that have applied for an apprenticeship and are actively seeking employment to work within your industry.
The entry requirements that we set for applicants means that we are looking for exceptional school or college leavers to work in your business. To ensure that they have met the essential apprenticeship criteria of being career focused, enthusiastic and motivated we have already put them through an initial interview and skills assessment. This way we can recommend the best people for you to interview.

The Recruitment Process
As an employer you can recruit an apprentice in two ways. The first is through advertising the vacancy using your traditional methods. The second is by utilising our FREE 'matching service' at Darlington College. After discussing your needs we will match your requirements with the skills and experience of our applicants.
It would then be your responsibility to interview and inform us of the outcome. If the interviews are a success and you find your apprentice, we will invite you both to the college and work alongside you to devise an induction programme.
